‘Steel and perspex form with resting points,’ is one of the names of the newest installation at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Critics have described the work as utilitarian in its leaning towards usefulness rather than beauty or ornamentation like the oeuvre of Mary Oros or Andy Fennel. Others have said that like the work of American artist George Segal, it seems hauntingly familiar describing it as evocative of everyday street scenes right across West Yorkshire. 'Right handy' Meanwhile visitors to the Sculpture Park are describing it as ‘a right handy place to sit and wait for the bus out of the wind’. Yes, Yorkshire Sculpture Park now has one of Metro’s bus shelters near the Visitor Centre.
