Campaigners condemn Heysham-M6 link road decision 19 March 2013 Immediate release Campaign for Better Transport has condemned the Secretary of State for Transport's decision to grant permission for the controversial Heysham-M6 Link Road . Sian Berry, Roads to Nowhere campaigner for Campaign for Better Transport said "This decision to build the Heysham-M6 Link Road will waste of £123 million of public money. It won't tackle congestion, in fact it will make it worse on some local roads. Nor will it help regenerate Morecambe or Heysham. Up to 1,100 jobs could actually be lost due to opportunities leaking out of the area via the new link." "Local campaigners put forward a strong case against this expensive and damaging project.
