The biggest order for battery-electric buses in Britain has been secured by Optare, which is to supply 20 to Nottingham city council. These will be ten Solo EVs and ten Versa EVs. Nottingham already has eight Optare Solo EVs on the CentreLink and MediLink city centre services. Jane Urquhart, the city council's portfolio holder for planning and transportation, says: "This is a welcome addition to our fleet of buses. We have award-winning public transport in Nottingham and a strong commitment to the environment. These buses will help us to continue leading the way in efficient, greener transportation."
