The new Opal card became available to train customers today, marking a historic milestone for public transport in Sydney. Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian said more than 4600 public transport customers had signed up for an Opal card since the train trial was announced 12 days ago. Starting today, Opal cards will work on the City Circle and stations to Bondi Junction – part of a progressive rollout that will include more than 300 train stations by the end of next year.
