FMCSA plans new safety actions targeted at industry WASHINGTON - The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration intends to keep its foot on the neck of the motorcoach industry for the foreseeable future. In an update to its "Motorcoach Safety Initiative" issued last month, the agency laid out a series of new and additional actions it plans to pursue, starting with a nationwide two-week inspection blitz that begins Aug. 26. In addition, it has developed a list of "targeted" operators on which it intends to focus enforcement efforts; it will train more inspectors on the aggressive auditing/assessment techniques it has been using...
