Plastisol UK launched the low-floor Mission minibus at Millbrook following the end of its relationship with Optare

Specialist vehicle engineering company Plastisol UK launched the fully low-floor Mission minibus at Millbrook on 17 September following confirmation of the end of its relationship with Optare. Developed by fellow Plastisol subsidiary Composite Mobility BV in the Netherlands, Mission is derived from the stillborn Bonito, which it had planned to market through Optare, and aimed at the welfare, accessible transport and courtesy coach sectors. For all intents and purposes a rebadged Bonito, the Mission has a high-strength, low-weight sandwich GRP composite body mounted on a front-wheel drive Fiat Ducato-derived chassis. It is available in a variety of lengths, from 17 seats on two axles to a tri-axle seating 30. In diesel form as shown at the launch, Mission has a 177bhp Fiat engine and six-speed manual gearbox, but a fully electric version is also available. The latter, says ...
