Sunderland diversions on Sunday 6th May

The Sunderland Marathon and combined 10k Road Race will be held on Sunday 6th May 2012. A large number of roads, predominantly those to the south-east and north-east of the City, will be closed from 07:00, which will result in long sections of roads being inaccessible to buses and other road traffic. Whilst it is planned to re-open a number of roads from 12:30, buses will be unable to return to normal in the south east of Sunderland until 14:30, with the City Centre, Wearmouth Bridge and Seaburn areas not being re-opened until 17:00 at the earliest. Diversions to bus services during these times will be: Services 2A/2C are not affected and will operate normal route. Service 9 will be unable to serve Holmside, Fawcett Street, North Bridge Street, Wheatsheaf or Newcastle Road between first bus and 17:00 and will be diverted to operate non-stop from Fulwell via Thompson Road (...
