Bus and Coach News: Multi-operator ticket for Bristol: A multi operator travelcard, Avon Rid... #bus #coach #diesel

A multi operator travelcard, Avon Rider, is being launched in Bristol and the surrounding area on 2 September. It will be valid on services run by the region's biggest operator, First, and on those by nine smaller business: Abus, Bath Bus Company, Bakers-Dolphin, Crosville Motor Services, Faresaver, North Somerset Coaches, Somerbus, Webber Bus and Wessex Connect. The day ticket will have an introductory price of £7.20, later rising to £7.50. It covers four local authority areas, Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. It was developed by the operators under the auspices of the West of England Bus Operators Association. The £7.50 price of the Avon Rider compares with £7 for a region-wide FirstDay ticket, or £4 for a FirstDay ticket valid only in Bristol.
