With its highest attendance to date, the Mid Anglian Coach Operators Association’s annual dinner brought together 118 guests. A charity raffle raised £825 – the highest in the dinner’s history. Special guests at Saturday’s dinner included Eastern Traffic Commissioner Richard Turfitt, the CPT, and a Gordon Ramsey lookalike who wowed the guests and even served some of the dishes. The 20 February event was sponsored by Backhouse Jones, Irizar UK, Plaxton and Volvo Coach Sales – which also provided raffle prizes – joining representatives from some of the most well-known coach operators in East Anglia and guests. Also attending was Dr Anne Booth, a volunteer emergency doctor with air ambulance service MAGPAS Helimedix, who received the cheque from the Association’s Chairman, Andrew Richmond of Richmond’s Coaches of Royston, and Belinda Grey, who organised the event with her hus...
