There’s a success story brewing in Norfolk, with First Eastern Counties’ services X1 and X2 on the Norwich-east coast corridors showing a strong level of growth. In part it’s due to close attention from the marketing team, which has trialled several promotions. Tim Deakin reports. Most interurban bus services have gone one of two ways since deregulation: Some remain highly successful, while others – lacking attention – wither and die. But in Norfolk, a third course is being plotted by First Eastern Counties on its X1 and X2/X22 services between Norwich and the east coast towns of Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft respectively.
