The proposed changes do little to address the concerns expressed in the recent UNESCO Mission report and by UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee last week in Bahrain. The latest proposals from Highways England still fail to address the major issue with the scheme, which is the large amount of surface dual carriageway to be built in the World Heritage Site. Campaign for Better Transport is part of the Stonehenge Alliance which is calling for no further damage to the World Heritage Site.
