The Association of Local Bus Company Managers (ALBUM) has named Ben Colson as its Chairman. Subject to ratification at the organisation’s AGM next May, Ben takes up the role following the resignation of James Freeman, who will soon leave Reading Buses to take up the position of Managing Director at First West of England. Ben is the former owner of award-winning operator Norfolk Green, which he sold to Stagecoach in 2013. He says: “ALBUM represents what the government repeatedly assures us is an important SME sector in the provision of the nation’s bus services. “I am therefore privileged to have been asked to take on this role, albeit initially on an interim basis. “I hope to be able to build further the profile of the industry’s SME sector.”
