National Express reveals it has taken record bookings for travel during the October break
National Express is gearing up for a bumper half term haul as it reveals it has taken record bookings for travel during the October break, and launches a new travel tips website. Advanced bookings show that 160,000 passengers have bought coach tickets – a record number for the October half term – and up 5% on last year. London is the most popular destination over the holiday with more than 45,000 people set to journey there. Birmingham is the second most popular, with 9,000 journeys. Closely following the capital in popularity are Stansted and Heathrow Airports. Sunday 26 October is the most popular day to travel with nearly 22,000 journeys booked, while London to Stansted Airport is the most popular route on that day. To prepare, National Express has added hundreds of extra seats to its services, as it sells thousands of journeys from £5 one-way online.
